Mrs. Hannah Rescigno, Principal

It’s an honor to serve as Principal at a school that’s full of energy, growth, and Cougar pride. My journey in education began right here in York School District One, where I’ve had the privilege of serving in multiple roles- from teaching 8th Grade Math to supporting students and staff as an Assistant Principal at both the middle and elementary levels.

I’m a proud product of this district, and I’m deeply committed to fostering strong relationships with our students, families, staff, and community. My husband and I are raising two young daughters who also attend school in York School District One, so I know firsthand the incredible opportunities and support this district provides to its students.

I hold both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from THE University of South Carolina- Go Gamecocks!

Mr. Christopher Black, Assistant Principal

York Intermediate…what a great place to be!  I am very excited to continue serving the students, faculty, and families of YIS.  I have spent my entire education career  in York School District ONE!  I graduated from the great Clemson University and began teaching Math at YCHS and YJHS for 12 years.  During those teaching years, I also coached football, basketball, tennis, and golf.  I received my Master's in Administration from the state university in Columbia in 2009 and began my work as a school administrator in 2010.

I am a York native and graduate of YCHS which allows me to have a unique understanding of our community's needs and strengths.  Our district has so many great opportunities for our students to better themselves.  I thoroughly enjoy getting to know our great students and helping them grow academically and socially.  I look forward to this being a great year for our students!

Mrs. Kellie Mondo, Assistant Principal

York Intermediate School is a wonderful place to learn and grow, and I’m truly honored to work alongside our dedicated staff to serve the students of York. Education is my passion, and I wholeheartedly believe this is where I’m meant to be.

I have a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina. My undergraduate studies were completed at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and Virginia Tech. During my time as a classroom teacher, I taught English Language Arts across all middle grade levels.

Originally from Virginia, I’ve had the opportunity to live in various parts of the country thanks to my husband’s military career. Since 2006, York County has been our home, and I feel very fortunate to be part of this community. My husband and I have two wonderful daughters—one lives in Charlotte and the other in Clemson. When I’m not spending time with them, I enjoy reading, crafting, working on jigsaw puzzles, and watching both college and professional football, and playing with our dog.

I appreciate being a be part of the YIS team, and I know we will have a fantastic school year with you and your child. Together, we’re going to make this the best year yet!
